About the Salt Spell Beauty Team
Salt Spell Beauty was founded in 2014 by Mariana McGrath and Andrea Ortega Costigan in San Francisco, California. After establishing themselves as top bridal and editorial makeup artists and hair stylists in the Bay Area, the duo moved to Los Angeles in 2019, branching into Red Carpet and Entertainment Industry glam. This dynamic team continues to evolve in the cosmetics marketing world, working with top-tier beauty brands to capture unique content of beauty products and makeup swatches for e-commerce social media.
The Salt Spell Beauty scope has grown to encompass both a holistic approach to beauty from the inside-out, as well as content creation for beauty brands. The team recently grew to three, bringing on Lauren McGrath as the in-house yoga teacher and content creator.
Each Salt Spell Beauty artist brings impressive beauty professional experiences to the team—from esthetician certifications at Cinta Aveda Institute, years of training with MAC Cosmetics, assisting makeup legend Pat McGrath, and continuing education with modern beauty icons like Makeup by Mario.
